Disney Planet Challenge 2012 Grand Prize Winners!
Disney's Planet Challenge is a project-based learning environmental competition for classrooms across the United States. Students were responsible for designing an environmentally based, standards driven project that "speaks to the hearts, minds, and hands of children".
On March 19, 2012, Project Reservoir was surprised by Mickey Mouse himself as he came to tell us we had been selected as the Grand Prize Winners for the Middle School competition. In recognition of our achievements, Disney awarded the entire team with a 4 day all expense paid trip to Walt Disney World in Orlando, Florida. Additionally, we will receive a $10,000 grant to further our project, along with prizes for us and our teachers.

Not Project Reservoir, but Still...The Christa McAuliffe School, PS # 28, was recognized by the Intel Foundation in September of 2010 for our achievements in Science Education. As one of only 18 finalists in the country, and one of only 3 Middle School Science finalist, we were honored at a celebration in Washington D.C. Although Project Reservoir was not directly responsible for this award, it is an important component of our school wide committment to high quality Science Education.
